Ghosts come to life at Traquair
The past will come back to haunt Traquair this Halloween with candlelit historical ghost tours taking place over two weekends.
In addition the very popular Halloween Experience will be taking place on Sunday October 26th with lots of Halloween fun for all ages.
Historical Ghost Tours
Friday 24th and Saturday 25th October
Friday 31st and Saturday 1st November
Times: 7pm and 9pm (numbers limited to 25 per tour)
Halloween suppers at the 1745 Cottage Restaurant
Dare you enter the ancient castle of Traquair at night where doors creak unexpectedly and the wind whistles through the ancient walls?
Find out about the characters who really lived here and the trials and adventures they faced as Jacobite supporters and Catholics when the ghosts of Traquair’s past come alive and take you on a tour of bringing history to life as never before.
Tours last approximately 1 hour and include a glass of mulled wine. Numbers are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. Adults £10.00 Children £8.00 (tours suitable for 8yrs and over – not for those with a nervous disposition!)
Make a night out of it and enjoy a Halloween Supper served at the 1745 Cottage Restaurant. Combined tour and supper tickets £22.00
Halloween Experience at Traquair
Sunday 26th October 11am - 4.00pm
A day of Halloween fun and spooks for everyone. There are all sorts of activities including the Spook Passage Experience in the house, a ghostly treasure trail where ghosts and witches will be lurking in the woods, ghost stories in the house, tarot reading, halloween games and talks and a display of owls and falconry.
Come in costume and enter our best dressed Halloween character competition or join our workshop to make your own witches and wizards accessories.
There will Halloween themed lunches and teas in the 1745 Cottage Restaurant and some spooky face painting for young and old.
Entrance to the house and grounds Adults £6.00 and Children £3.00
