Last year the Tweed Valley Forest Festival attracted over 3,750 people from far and near to celebrate the connections with the area's Halloween customs and growing forest culture.
And this year it is all set to run again with a fantastic line up of indoor and outdoor events from Friday 23rd October to Sunday 1st November 2009.
Developed by the Treefest Partnership the festival is based around the Tweed Valley Forest Park with the beautiful market town of Peebles at its hub. Just 20 odd miles south of Edinburgh this popular destination offers a High Street with fantastic independent shops, hotels & restaurants serving delicious food and a countryside which is stunning to view and explore –
especially in the golden glow of autumn.
Highlights for this year include the 3rd Scottish Conker Championship which will take place on picturesque Tweed Green, a two day Wood Market which offers a fantastic opportunity to buy wood products direct from the makers (and so, so much more!), spooky events and Halloween activities at Traquair House, Bowhill House and Kailzie Gardens.
Inspired? There's plenty of fascinating forest fun to be had as Iain Laidlaw of the Treefest Partnership explains: "The Tweed Valley Forest Festival is shaping up to be a fantastic event packed with heaps of entertainment and activities for everyone. Our dynamic team of Treefest partners have pulled together to lay on a fascinating blend of indoor and outdoor events. Thanks to all the organisers, the festival should be brilliant so I'd urge everyone to join in the fun and get a real taste of the history and culture in this stunning part of the Tweed Valley.
