International Year of the Forests The United Nations Forum on Forests has declared 2011 as International Year of Forests. It is designed to 'raise awareness and promote global action to sustainably manage, conserve and develop all types of forests including trees outside of forests.' Forestry Commisssion Scotland and its partners are suppoeting this initiative through an events led programme, to celebrate Scotlan'd Trees, Woods and Forests and raise the profile of our wonderful resource.
